Add-SPSolution : Cannot access the local farm. Verify that the local farm is properly configured, currently available, and that you have the appropriate permi ssions to access the database before trying again.

Perform the following script in the SharePoint Management Shell, as a farm administrator and it will remove the error.
Get-SPDatabase | Add-SPShellAdmin SomeDomain\SomeUserName

  1. Counting on the AWS hands on training in electronic city to help me build my portfolio. I have one concern: is the lab environment pre-configured? I often find that I spend too much time setting up VPCs instead of actually learning the architecture. I hope there is a sandbox environment ready to go

  2. The Get-SPDatabase | Add-SPShellAdmin one-liner is a compact way to hand a single account shell access across every database the farm returns, rather than fixing them one at a time. What the note makes clear is the precondition: the session has to be opened by a farm administrator, or the cmdlet has nothing to work with. Worth keeping bookmarked for permission troubleshooting after a farm change. This comes from the team behind Lagos Life Game Wiki, an unrelated unofficial game guide site.
